Louis Vuitton Cakes

Special request..
Speedy 35
My life saver stamps..
I had a friend ask me to make his wife a very special cake for her birthday. He had just went out and bought her this new Louis Vuitton speedy 35 purse & wanted me to make a cake replica of it! Without even knowing what it looked like I jumped on the offer! First thing I did was I googled a picture of it, then I thought.. how the hell will I replicate the monogram? I looked up a couple of ideas and the one that stuck out to me the most was stamping! I had my tattoo guy draw out the design for me on stencil paper and I copied it onto a piece of thin craft foam which i cut out with my exacto knife. I cut up some squares stacked them, crazy glued them together and made my own stamps! They freaking rock!!

Now for the cake.. He wanted to keep it as safe  as possible so we went with vanilla & buttercream. I baked two 15x13" pans cut them both in half and stacked them with the buttercream as the filling. I then went ahead and started carving the top to resemble the purse. I crumb coated it & put another layer of buttercream. Then I covered it in the chocolate fondant. I went ahead and stamped the cake with gold luster dust to make the monogram. All the detail work was made hours before to give It time to dry.
And this is the finished product! I must say I am very proud of myself!

Post Super Bowl

Super Bowl XLV1 Cake
Im finally back to post the pictures of the cake!! This was one hell of a project for me, I've never made helmets before but I was confident that I would do great & as you can see.. I did!! Most of my time was spent trying to perfect the helmets, and I ended up throwing the field together last minute! I know I could have done a much better job, but everyone still thought it was a killer cake!

Super Bowl Cake 2012 & My Very First Post

Sketch of the super bowl cake
Okay so this is as the title states "My Very First" post! It's late Sunday night and I'm preparing for the big super bowl party next weekend. Even though my favorite team (The Miami Dolphins) aren't playing I'm still very excited! I love football! :) As soon as we found out which teams made it to the super bowl I started sketching out my "blue print" for "The Cake." I didn't want a round cake so I thought what could be better than a football field. I wanted to keep it as realistic as possible, I don't know about you but when I see that field on game day with the team name & logo on the end zone I know its game time! In addition to the field I'm also making two helmet cakes. I can't wait to get started already...
